PORTHLEVEN MUSEUM

Welcome

TO OUR COMMUNITY PROJECT

Today is Tomorrow’s History

The   purpose   of   the   museum   is   to   capture   the   past   and   then   record   the present   creating   a   perpetual   record   of   our   community’s   journey   through time. Many    of    Porthleven’s    community    already    contribute    to    the    museum’s archives   offering   thousands   of   images   for   digitising   before   being   returned   to their rightful owners. Once   personal   historic   images   were   only   available   to   a   limited   audience   but now,   thanks   to   the   generosity   of   local   people   and   others   who   no   longer reside   in   Porthleven,   historic   images   and   information   is   now   available   for   all to see. Simon   Stone,   owner   of   Out   of   the   Blue,   Mill   Lane,   sponsored   and   hosts   the museums   display.   There   are   hundreds   of   images   on   view.      If   you   are   in   the area it is worth a visit.
